Survey (Questions)

In this post I want to show my questionnarie, which is part of primary research regarding my research theme - Cyber Security. I wanted to ask people about basics of security, which are common such as passwords.


The first section contains general question about the person, which is responding.


The second section contains questions about using the Internet. The reason why I asked about this is I wanted to check, which of internet services are usually using. Moreover, I wanted to check, how often people care about the basics of cybersecurity, which in this case is changing the password. Last two questions are about general safety feeling of the people regarding the Internet usage.

Last section contains the questions about cybersecurity aspects of card payments and internet banking. Again, I wanted to check, how people care about their security regarding cases of scams and theft. Last two questions are about general safety feeling of the people regarding card payments and internet banking services.

Opinion about safety (Survey Analysis)

In my questionnaire, I asked people about their feeling of internet safety. The question was "How safe do you feel with using internet services?" Author's work, 1 - not safe, 5 - very safe         As we can see, the majority of the group is feeling safe on the Internet. Only 6 of the responders are feeling completely safe, which is negative, because they may be less focused during using the Internet, which can cause an opportunity to be charmed by hackers. Development of cybersecurity technologies is possibly a reason, why nobody feels completely unsafe on the Internet. Author's work, 1 - not safe, 5 - very safe   However, the general feeling of safety on the Internet is not related to using online payments. As we can see in the diagram, more people are worried about their safety in case of online payments. Comparison of these 2 diagrams may suggest, people are more worried about their money, than their sensitive data such as name, address, location etc.

Case Study (Conclusion)

To sum up, the lacks in cybersecurity, forced by Chinese government can be a cause of harm for citizens, which are aware of any danger. It was not the first iCloud hack in 2014, however, attack on iCloud in China was more complicated than this from September 2014, when naked celebrities’ photos leaked, because one of the vital reasons was low-level in cybersecurity caused by using "The Great Firewall" by Chinese government and other factors such as forcing less-protected technologies. It shows, how politics aspects can participate in daily life and safety of the biggest society at the world. Additionally, this incident shows that, even one of the biggest IT company can have a trouble with providing safety to their customers.
